TOUGH TIME

Former Real Madrid player Mesut Ozil has admitted that the past months have been a tough time for Arsenal as they have had a tough and hectic schedule which he labels it as ‘’out of the ordinary’’.

The German midfielder made his recovery from a shoulder injury that kept him out of 2 matches of Arsenal during the Christmas period. Ozil is now anxious on be playing back on the pitch alongside his teammates and being once again a regular starter for the Premier League club.

“Of course it is out of the ordinary because I have always had a winter break in previous years. In the Premier League, you play every few days – you don’t get a week to relax,” Ozil said on Arsenal Player.

“I am very pleased that I am in this league because you go from game to game very quickly. You play every two or three days and for me it is better to play more games than train because I love a challenge and here that is perfect.”

“I feel comfortable here. You can see on the pitch when we play together that we have a very good understanding. The team is great and for me it’s been very easy to settle – the German players here have helped me to establish myself quicker than I perhaps would have done were they not here’’. Ozil said.

Ozil has made some impressive performances ever since making his £43million move from Real Madrid to Arsenal proving why Arsenal was willing to offload that amount of cash in order to sign him up. The switch questioned Real Madrid on why they sold the player that was considered to be one of the best midfielders in the squad and still retained Angel Di Maria who at that time was underperforming in comparison to Mesut Ozil.
