ARSENAL OFFERED BARCELONA STAR RAFINHA

Premier League side Arsenal have reportedly being offered the chance to sign Barcelona player Rafinha.

Sky Sports claims the player did not travel with the Catalan club to the United States for the pre-season tour. The midfielder is in recovery following a knee injury.

Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu earlier said Rafinha would not be sold. However things could change in the following weeks. The Spanish club expects offers north of 30 million Euros, which the Gunners should meet. The north London side could use the player as one of the options if Alexis Sanchez eventually leaves the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal is trying to retain MesutOzil, Olivier Giroud, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, aside Sanchez but it is being increasingly difficult as the player are linked with many clubs and they think of their futures.

With Alex Lacazette ahead in the pecking order and with lack of Champions League football, Olivier Giroud is seeking a fresh challenge. Everton, West Ham and Marseille have been linked with a move for the player. Marseille coach Rudi Garcia has said that the Ligue 1 side would not be making a bid for Giroud.

Arsene Wenger still has Jack Wilshere’s deal to contend with. The player was on loan to Bournemouth last season but there are reports that he could be on his way to Swansea City soon. The Swans are linked with a £20 million for the Three Lions star. West Ham, Newcastle United and Sampdoria are also linked with the player.

Calum Chambers is also the subject of a £16 million move too Crystal Palace. Arsenal are holding out for £25 million for the full back but Palace want to beat the price down. The out-of-favour player seems open to leave the club as he ranks low in the pecking order.
