WALCOTT WILL SIGN

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he is confident that the star midfielder Theo Walcott will be signing a new contract with the club. The 23-year-old midfielder has out of contract at the end of the season, which has intensified of rumours that he would be sold in the summer transfer window rather than Arsenal losing him for a free in the next summer. However, the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, like in the case of the previous transfer speculations, has expressed his confidence that the player will stay at Arsenal. Arsenal fans, though, will be extremely bored by the confidence of the Frenchman.

Throughout the negotiations between Arsenal and the likes of Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas, and Robin van Persie, Arsene Wenger has always maintained that he was confident that the player would stay. However, all these players have left the club coupled with a number of other stars like Alex Song as well. Theo Walcott leaving the club would be the final nail in the coffin because it would make the club extremely weak when it comes to attack. Of course, they may have brought in the likes of Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski, but they need to have time in the Premier league in order to find their feet.

“He’s English, he lives 10 minutes from here. So hopefully we can find an agreement at some stage. Every decision we have a general line of conduct that is our wage structure that we want to respect. If we don’t do that we will go nowhere. It is of course different for a 29-year-old than a 23-year-old. It was never a hard-line approach, always a soft-line approach, but with respect of our wage structure,” said Arsene Wenger on the transfer deadline day of the 2012 summer transfer window.
