ARSENAL ANSWER CRITICS

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that his side have proven in the match against West Ham that they have what it takes to win the title. Arsenal managed a comeback victory against West Ham during the weekend to show that they were not suffering from any hangovers following the midweek Champions League matches. Even though they did not make use of the ball in the first half and allowed West Ham to score, the Arsenal manager believes that the performance shown by the team in the second half was more than justifiable.

Arsenal managed to recover from the setback and win the match 3-1 in the end. Players like Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott once again asserted the fact that they are in good run of form recently by being responsible for this comeback win. Arsene Wenger later said that this showed that Arsenal have a much better strength within the squad than initially thought and that they would be capable of winning matches to stay in the title race. Despite this win, Arsenal still remained 7 points behind Chelsea in the Premier League table. The 2-1 loss against Chelsea last weekend is now looking more painful for the Arsenal manger.

“We started with a lot of questions raised about the team. We have now played seven games and the belief in the squad is that we have a chance. Of course we now need to do it week after week. The spirit and quality are there. It is about how consistent we are now. It was important for us to respond well and after our defeat against Chelsea, we won against Olympiacos on Wednesday night. We had a difficult game three days later and we knew a draw here was not good enough for us, so we went for it and gave absolutely everything to win the game,” said Wenger.
