PRESSURE ON GIROUD

The manager of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, is concerned about the huge amount of workload on Olivier Giroud and that’s why he is desperate to sign a quality striker during the mid season transfer window. The players who are believed to be at the top two positions in his wish list are Edin Dzeko from Manchester City and Alexandre Pato from Corinthians.

Wenger had tried to sign Pato in January this year as well, but, he hadn’t succeeded as the 24 years old forward had decided to sign for Corinthians, a Brazilian club.

According to some of the reports, Corinthians would be ready to let Pato go during the mid-season transfer window at a transfer fee of about 10 million Pounds.

As far as Dzeko is concerned, he is believed to be unhappy at Manchester City because of the lack of playing time. He wants to play regularly so that he remains fit and in good form ahead of the World Cup campaign of his national team Bosnia & Herzegovina. He will definitely be willing to make a move to the Emirates Stadium if City allows him to do so.

Apart from these two players, there are some other guys too who are on the radar of Arsene Wenger. Those guys are Fernando Llorente, Karim Benzema, Javier Hernandez and Luis Suarez.

Although, Arsenal is leading the Premier League points table at the moment but, there are not too many people who are backing them to become the champions eventually. Most of the people reckon that Arsene Wenger’s side hasn’t had the depth which is necessary to win a tournament like Premier League. But, if Arsenal manages to make a couple of good signings during the mid-season transfer window, those people might have to change their mind.
